A few quotes on love…

Posted: February 14, 2013 by thoughtsfrommyshelf in Reading, Thoughts

I love quotes, movies, and stories about love. Yesterday some students gathered to discuss love, the problem of love, and why love even exist. One of the questions asked was, how would you define love? I sat and thought for a bit and tried to pin down what I thought love was. I think love is the unconditional self-sacrificing expression of affection for someone else’s happiness.

I then came home and look up some of my favorite quotes and reads on love. I found a few that I highlighted and marked down. Please comment and add any quote you like.

“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
― Dr. Seuss

“Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”
― Robert A. Heinlein

“Two people in love, alone, isolated from the world, that’s beautiful.”
― Milan Kundera

“One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving.”
― Paulo Coelho

“Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”
― Albert Einstein

“When you trip over love, it is easy to get up. But when you fall in love, it is impossible to stand again.”
― Albert Einstein
